Attending the Game

Get tickets online before you go:

Parking is available in AB Tech student parking on the home team side of the stadium (along Victoria Road). You can put in AB Tech K. Ray Bailey Student Services Center as a reference point. Enter the stadium from either end of the home team side from AB Tech parking.

You will NOT be able to enter the stadium from the guest side, which is the AHS entrance down the hill from the band room.

There is a strict bag policy in place for all football games for safety considerations. You may bring in stadium seats, blankets, cameras, but they can't be in a bag. Purses must be extremely small, wallet size only.

Show your Cougar pride by wearing Cougar gear (or buy some from the boosters at the game!).

Where to Sit

Band parents typically sit in the upper section behind the band or to either side of the band—sit wherever you are most comfortable!

After the Game – Pick-Up Plan

Make a pick-up plan ahead of time—the band will need to return equipment to the band room after the game.

The usual AHS car drop-off line off of Victoria Rd. is a good pick-up spot but expect some traffic getting from the AB Tech student parking over to Asheville High. It can help to leave before the end of the game.

Game Schedule for the Band

  • Before kickoff - the band performs the National Anthem and plays as the teams run onto the field
  • 1st - 2nd quarters - they play stand tunes
  • Halftime show – The big performance!
  • 3rd quarter - The band takes a break and visits concessions. The kids will need to bring their own money if they want to buy concessions during this time.
  • 4th quarter – More stand tunes and cheering on the team! The band walks back to the band room after the game is over to store their instruments and you pick them up back at school.

Other Helpful Tips

Support the student athletes! Bring a few dollars for raffle tickets.

Stay comfortable – Bring a stadium seat, cushion, sweatshirt, or blanket (especially in cooler months).

Support the concessions and booster club – Grab a snack or drink while you enjoy the game!

The band works hard and has a blast at these games—cheer them on and enjoy the Friday night fun! 🎢🏈🎺
