Asheville High School Wind Symphony Performs at the NCMEA Conference

A remarkable trip — and an unforgettable achievement

The Asheville High School Wind Symphony successfully performed at the 2025 North Carolina Music Educators Association (NCMEA) Conference in Winston-Salem!

This prestigious honor was made possible thanks to the incredible support from our community, families, and donors — and we are thrilled to share that we met our fundraising goal.

Only two high school bands across the entire state were selected, and this marked the first AHS performance at NCMEA in 26 years. We are deeply grateful to everyone who contributed to the students’ preparation, and to the 2024–2025 Wind Symphony whose audition recordings earned the invitation.

A Performance to Remember

The NCMEA Conference is one of the most respected gatherings of music educators and student musicians in North Carolina.

Our students had the opportunity to:

  • Learn from outstanding music educators

  • Perform at an advanced and competitive level

  • Connect with peers and professionals from across the state

  • Deepen their passion for music and strengthen their ensemble skills

Their performance was extraordinary, and they represented Asheville High School with pride and excellence.

Your generosity ensured that every student was able to participate, covering travel, lodging, meals, and registration fees.

Because of our donors and community partners:

🎉 No student was left behind.

🎉 The trip was fully funded.

🎉 Our musicians had an inspiring and transformative experience.

We cannot thank you enough for helping make this milestone possible.
